Signal Systems was established in 2005 to provide communications services to Vancouver Film Studios customers, but today serves a wide variety of business organizations operating throughout the Lower Mainland and southwestern British Columbia.

Signal Systems is a member of the McLean Group, a second-generation family business founded in 1972. In addition to Signal Systems, the McLean Group owns and operates Vancouver Film Studios, Pacific Backlot, Harbour Landing Construction, Blanca Realty, and Blackcomb Helicopters.
